A “studio” can mean different things to different creators.
Many people think of a bright white room with backdrops, softboxes, and octabanks to control your story to every spec. But it can be anywhere with any set of creative tools.
It can be an outdoor set balancing natural light with a burst of a strobe for an extra pop.
It can also be your home, a kitchen table, or a field with a makeshift seamless backdrop.
It can also be a nook in your apartment where the light is just right. Or something unexpectedly, authentically you.
For our October prompt, #MyStudio, we want to see your studio environment, wherever it is. Show us behind the scenes. Show us your gear and camera. Whether it’s a slick indoor space or a casual glimpse at you or another photographer working, show us the “studio” where you make creative magic.
How to submit:
Post your photos to VSCO using the hashtag #MyStudio. We’ll spotlight images that catch our eyes, from inside and outside the box.

Looking for inspiration? Here are some creative ways to show your studio and process.
The classic big box studio setup
Tall ceilings, bright lights, and miles of seamless.
Studio in the wild
Sometimes a studio can be a sweeping landscape or a dive in the ocean. Let’s see you (or another creator!) working in the big wide open.
Close quarters
A makeshift “studio” – a hidden spot in your house, apartment, or office where the light, color, or moment is just right.

Your backdrop as prop
We love when creators make their studio backdrops become the subject – in campaigns, editorial jobs, and more. It brings behind-the-scenes to the foreground.
From behind your desk
Show us where you scan, retouch, color-grade, and make your post-shoot wonders.
First-person perspective
Over the shoulder, through the arms, and perfectly framed.
Outdoor and on location
From elaborate equipment to diy fun end experimentation, take your studio outside.
Viewfinder views
Your scene on screen.
In between moments
Setting up a tripod, steadying a light, or taking a moment to review your last image.
